During the Star Wars Celebration event at London’s ExCel centre, Daisy Ridley steps out onto the stage to announce a return to the Star Wars franchise
Daisy Ridley’s last appearance was in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Near to the end of TROS; Rey was revealed to be a Palpatine, and then she went up against and defeated a clone of him, with the help of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).
Rey was ashamed of keeping that last name; causing her to change it to Rey Skywalker and the force-ghosts of Luke and Leia also appeared to her just before she decided the change.
In this new Star Wars film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy; the plot will be set 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. Steven Knight will be writing for the new movie.
Rey will now be rebuilding the New Jedi Order and that’s all has been revealed about the film so far.
Will Finn (John Boyega) make a surprise appearance and possibly a force-ghost appearance of Kylo Ren? Fans are hoping to at least see them bring back Finn as a stormtrooper-turned Jedi. 15 years should be enough to train him!
James Mangold and Dave Filoni will also be directing two other movies for the franchise; and they will be set in a newly released Star Wars timeline.
The film doesn’t currently have a release date set, bookmark this for when we do update the article with the date.
