Captain America 4 is being directed by Julius Onah; who is most known for The Cloverfield Paradox movie, with Dalan Musson and Macolm Spellman writing the script.
This upcoming Marvel film is being described as a classic paranoid thriller, set to star Anthony Mackie in the titular role, where he will be facing new challenges as a leader of a new team, going up against new adversaries.
Sam Wilson chose to finally accept the mantle, at the end of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series. Chris Evan’s Steve Rogers also gave Wilson the shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
Danny Ramirez will also be reprising his role as Joaquin Torres and Carl Lumbly as the original super soldier Isaiah Bradley.
In 2008, The Incredible Hulk was released, and apart from Edward Norton being replaced for Mark Ruffalo, the movie is still part of the MCU.
Tim Roth has also recently reprised his character Abomination in the She-Hulk series.
Now there will be more characters coming back from that 2008 film, causing fans to consider Captain America: New World Order, to be a Hulk movie.
Liv Tyler (Armageddon, The Lord of the Rings), will be returning to play the role of scientist Betty Ross.
Due to William Hurt passing away in 2022, Harrison Ford will be starring as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross instead; although this character has of course continued to be in more MCU movies since 2008. It’s not clear if Thaddeus will become Red Hulk.
At the D23 Expo for Marvel Studios, LucasFilm & 20th Century Studios, there was an announcement that Tim Blake Nelson will also another actor to reprise from The Incredible Hulk film; who will be playing a villain called Samuel Sterns/The Leader.
This character’s origin was caused by Bruce Banner (Edward Norton); when he was trying to cure himself of the Gamma mutation. The procedure was working, however Bruce ended up keeping it to stop Abomination from destroying the city.
In the midst of Banner changing, Tim Blake Nelson’s character then hits his head and was exposed to radiation, where it was expected that he would become a supervillian, with a genius-level intellect.
It’s not yet explained how these Hulk characters are involved in this fourth movie, however there are rumours that the film could be about people fighting over Adamantium on Tiamut (the gigantic celestial in the water from Eternals movie). Adamantium is the metal that’s used to enhance Wolverine.
Thaddeus has also supposedly been promoted to being the president, instead of a General.
Marvel Studio’s Captain America: New World Order, newly retitled to (Brave New World) is set to release in cinemas on July 26, 2024.
