Walt Disney’s event D23 Expo is contuining for the second day, this time it’s for the coverage of Marvel Studios and 20th Century Studios announcements.
The D23 Expo event concludes on Sunday September 11th. Check out the coverage for Disney & Pixar announcements that kicked off the Expo on Friday.
LucasFilm Announcements
Let’s get started with the announcements covering LucasFilm/Star Wars content.
Andor
Brand new trailer for Andor was released at the D23 Event. Streaming with a three episode premiere on Disney Plus, September 21 – starring Diego Luna. There are 12 episodes in total. Andor season 2 is also about to begin production.
Willow
Willow is next to be showcased, this is a fantasy adventure series starring Warwick Davis, Joanne Whalle and Christian Slater. Streaming on Disney Plus, November 30. Here is the official trailer:

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Season 2
There is a second season for Star wars: The Bad Batch, this will be released in January 4, 2023. The series is 16 episodes long and will premiere with 2 episodes.
Tales of the Jedi
There has been an official trailer released for Tales of the Jedi. All six original shorts will stream on October 26.
Ahsoka
There’s been no trailer released at the event. Jon Favreau does however call Dave Filoni’s series his “Magnum Opus”.
Skeleton Crew
Jon Watts and Chris Ford discuss the series “This is set in the New Republic but it’s actually a completely new story”.

The Mandalorian
There has been a teaser trailer released for season 3 of The Mandalorian, streaming on Disney Plus, in 2023.
Indiana Jones 5
The trailer for Indiana Jones 5 was shown at the event, starring Harrison Ford, this is his last movie in the franchise. Both Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are involved in this project. The trailer hasn’t been released online yet. Indiana Jones 5 is set to release in cinemas on June 30, 2023.
Marvel Studios Announcements
Now it’s time for Marvel/MCU content.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
There is new footage for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever being shown exclusively for the event audience, it’s not been released online. The director, Ryan Coogler is still in the editing process for the movie as well, the movie releases on November 11, 2022.
Ironheart
Ironheart series will explore the battle between magic and tech. This Marvel Studios series is starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, releases on Disney Plus, late 2023. There’s a first look at Anthony Ramos as The Hood, Riri Williams building her suit and action sequences. These clips have also not been released online yet.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania
This movie will directly link to the events of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The new footage was shown exclusively to the audience again, so unfortunately no trailer or clips online. However, you can check out our previous description of what happened in the trailer that was shown Comic Con.
Werewolf by Night
At last, a title that’s been spoken about for a while, however never officially confirmed to be happening until now.
Here is the official trailer for the horror/Halloween special Werewolf by Night, starring Gael Garcia Bernal – streaming on October 7.
Secret Invasion
An official trailer has finally been released for Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion, an Original series, streaming June 21, 2023 – starring Samuel L. Jackson and Emilia Clarke.
Armor Wars

Don Cheadle is returning for the Disney Plus series Armor Wars. The series will begin filming next year and will conist of 6 episodes.
Loki – Season 2
Ke Huy Quan (The Goonies, Everything Everywhere All At Once) star has been cast in season 2 of Loki, he will be playing a TVA employee.
Fantastic Four
There’s been no casting information, however Marvel Studios has officially announced that Matt Shakman will direct the movie, after replacing Jon Watts.
Echo
There are clips being exclusively shown to the audience, of Kingpin in bandages. Echo releases on Disney Plus, Summer 2023.
Daredevil: Born Again
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are on stage to discuss their upcoming 18 episode series, on Disney Plus in Spring 2024.
A new logo for the series has also been released:
Captain America: New World Order
There has been a new casting announcement and logo for this movie, Tim Blake Nelson is returning as The Leader. Nelson was previously in The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton, an experiment caused his character to gain an abnormally large head and higher intelligence, after Bruce’s DNA contaminated him. Danny Ramirez will also return as Falcon. Carl Lumbly will also be returning as Isaiah Bradley.
Thunderbolts
There has been an image released for the characters in Thunderbolts, this team up will include: Val, Ghost, The Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, The Winter Soldier, John Walker and Taskmaster. This will release on July 26, 2024.

The Marvels
The first footage is being shown at the event, with Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris and director Nia DaCosta all on stage. Releasing in cimemas on November 10, 2023.

Avatar: The Way of Water
James Cameron has announced that filming is beginning for Avatar 4. As well as, footage being shown at the event for The Way of Water. The film is due to release on 16 December 2022.
