Marvel has now moved the release dates for multiple MCU movies, and Disney has delayed Mufasa: The Lion King sequel, to December 20, 2024.
With a deal reached between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP; that’s worth over one billion dollars, the actors strike is finally over.
However, it’s already taken too long for the AMPTP to bring an appropriate deal to the table; which has resulted in multiple delays to content, for the next five years.
Which movies are delayed?
2024 Disney and Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios movie release dates
Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds and the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, is delayed to the Summer instead, on May 3, 2024. This is currently the only Disney/Marvel film to release in 2024.
Apart from Marvel films from other studios such as Sony Pictures’ Venom 3 starring Tom Hardy, which has also been delayed to November 8, 2024.
Currently, Madame Web starring Dakota Johnson and Syndey Sweeney, is still releasing on February 16, 2024, for now! And Kraven the Hunter releases on August 30, 2024.

2025 MCU movie release dates
Disney has moved all of their other Marvel films to 2025:
Captain America: Brave New World starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford, is releasing on February 14, 2025.
According to John Rocha; from the entertainment podcast (The Hot Mic); Captain America 4 is getting negative scores at test screenings, and this has reportedly lead to 3 major sequences cut, and more reshoots to follow.
Blade starring Mahershala Ali is going to be releasing on November 7, 2025. The film has currently been changing directors and multiple writers over the initial development of this project.
Fantastic Four (currently no cast announced), is releasing on May 2, 2025.
Thunderbolts starring Florence Pugh and David Harbour, is now releasing in the Summer, on July 25, 2025.
Could there still be further delays to the next big Avengers movies?
Earlier this year, in June; both Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars were already pushed to May 1, 2026 and May 7, 2027. Hopefully, the releases are not extended beyond that.
