Sony Pictures has announced that a new release of Spider-Man: No Way Home will be arriving in cinemas in 2022. This movie is including extra footage and in this article there is a discussion on those extra scenes to come.
Sony Pictures had huge success when their Marvel movie ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ released in cinemas in December 2021. The movie quickly racked up $1.8 million at the worldwide box office.
When the movie was due to release for home release; Sony Pictures promised fans in advertisements, that the extended and deleted scenes would be available upon purchase.
However, when the physical release came out, all of these scenes were not included and fans were left angered and misled by all of the false advertisement. Due to this, fans began to speculate, that there could a re-release at some point.
The More Fun Stuff Version
As predicted, Sony Pictures has now posted the announcement; for a new release of this movie called; ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff Version’.
Also reported on so far, this new release should be adding an extra 15 minutes to the runtime; bringing the total runtime to 2 hours and 43 minutes. Update August 19, 2022: It’s less now! According to Fandango, Sony will only be adding 11 minutes instead. Total runtime: 2 hours 39 minutes.
Previously known deleted scenes
The list of scenes were revealed online in February, 2022.
- Interrogation Scene Extended: 02:25
- Peter Day at Midtown High: 05:25
- Undercroft Montage: 01:35
- Happy’s Very Good Lawyer: 01:35
- The Spideys Hang Out: 04:25
Due to the extra footage time decreasing from 15 – 11 minutes, these list of scenes will have changed and may not even be the same anymore for what is being shown.
Breaking down this list, there are more scenes of Damage Control Agent P. Cleary (Arian Moayed), interrogating Peter, MJ, Aunt May and Ned about their involvement in the death of Mysterio.
There also also scenes of Peter (Tom Holland) in the gym hall at Midtown High. Happy (Jon Favreau) is under heavy scruting, sitting in a boardroom meeting with Daredevils’ Matthew Murdock (Charlie Cox) as his lawyer. We’ll finally get to see more of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland hanging out in scenes.
It’s possible that Sony could be working on adding more deleted scenes to this new release, however, this has not been confirmed yet.
Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man) vs. Green Goblin fight scenes
As photos and videos from the set revealed; there were scenes showing Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin fighting once again. Hopefully, this will be included in the movie.
