Warner Bros were coining the phrase in their marketing for the DC projects: ‘2022 is the year of heroes’. Now, it look like this is not the case, as the release dates get turned upside-down.
Here are the new release dates changes for DC projects:
DC League of Super-Pets – New release date for this animated movie: July 29, 2022. Previously moved from this release date: May 20, 2022.
Black Adam – New release date: October 21, 2022. Moved from July 29, 2022. According to One Take News, the movie will be under-going reshoots.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods – New release date: December 16, 2022. This movie is actually releasing so much earlier; as Shazam was going to be released on June 2, 2023. However, the movie will now face up against James Cameron’s Avatar 2, which also releases on December 16!
Update August 24: The release date has been changed again to March 17, 2023 This will now avoid Avatar 2.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom – New release date December 25, 2023. The previous date was December 16, 2022.
The Flash – New release date: June 23, 2023. The movie was previously suppose to release on November 4, 2022.
Could Batgirl be delayed too?
Update August 24: The movie was cancelled.
For the timeline in HBO Max’ Batgirl movie to make sense; it can only be done by watching The Flash movie first. This is because Barry messes up the timeline so much that Michael Keaton is Batman again, in place of Ben Affleck. Keaton will also be appearing in the Batgirl movie as Bruce Wayne/Batman. So, it’s more than likely that Batgirl could be delayed to at least after June 2023.
Erik Davis has put together a new movie release calendar.
