Amazon MGM Studios are now looking for the next actor to play James Bond.
During 2022, Amazon acquired MGM for $8.5 billion, which includes the distribution rights for the 007 franchise. However Amazon did not yet have creative control until they were able to gain this from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, in 2025.
In statement from Amazon MGM: ‘The search for the next James Bond is underway. While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.‘
Variety reports that Oscar-nominated casting director Nina Gold will be holding auditions to find the next 007 agent. Gold previously worked on casting for titles such as Game of Thrones, Hamnet, Wonka, London Spy, Conclave, and Lord of the Flies.
The new Bond movie is going to be directed by Denis Villeneuve (Dune Franchise, Blade Runner 2049). Steven Knight is also working on writing the script.

At the end of No Time To Die (2021), they completely killed off Daniel Craig’s James Bond, as he was the last iteration since to play the character and therefore this new film will definitely be going for more of a reset/reboot for the character.
Will the Bond actor be a relatively unknown? Or will they go for known names?
There are fan suggestions online for actors to play secret agent James Bond, such as: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner, Jack Lowden, Theo James, Henry Cavill, Harris Dickinson, Richard Madden, or maybe actor Patrick Gibson; who is currently portraying Bond in the upcoming video game 007: First Light, could get the role in live action as well.
