BBC has announced that The Matrix Resurrections star; Jonathan Groff has joined the cast of Doctor Who.
Groff’s recent work has been in M. Night Shyamalan’s film Knock at the Cabin.
In the DoctorWho.tv article, Jonathan Groff will be playing a key guest role, in series 14, with Ncuti Gatwa, Millie Gibson and also Jinkx Monsoon, as a new villain.
There’s not currently any further information for Jonathan’s role. The American actor does also have a musical background, notably for the series GLEE, which could be used for that upcoming musical-themed episode with Jinkx Monsoon.
Dunkirk film actor, Aneurin Barnard will also be starring in this series.
Doctor Who will be returning in November 2023, for the 60th anniversary special with David Tennant and Catherine Tate.
Ncuti Gatwa’s series 14 premieres over the festive period and filming has been taking place recently in Cardiff, revealing an episode set in 1960’s.
